With MSD Dist. Can I use Stock Dist Cover
Please tell me yes??? Am going to purchase the #8572 from jegs with the 6al box??????? :confused: :confused: see below for correction :banghead:

I never put the stock one next to the 8572 but it looks like it should fit fine. Let me know because I was thinking about getting the distributor sheilding box for my car.

Yes, the stock distributor cap fits the MSD, but the notch on the MSD distributor for "clocking" the cap puts the points window in the cap towards the rear of the distributor instead of in the stock location. Use of the stock cap, of course, allows you to use your stock wires instead of going to the HEI style wires.

You do not have to use the HEI style cap "Cap-a-dapt" with the 8572 distributor. I bought the 8572 and I think it cam with the standard"8437" non HEI cap.

What I ment to say was Will the chrome shielding cover go over the msd distributor :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

You sure can ,i have the stock shielding on my 70 with the msd hei and
the blaster coil.I'ts kind of a shame to hide them but i like the crome,
gives it the sleeper look.
