C4 aluminum water pump fit a C3?? Its cheep!!
HI
I was wondering if any knows if a stock early 80's C4 water pump will fit our cars I looked at one and it looked the same. New ones at checker are only $45.00 thats cheep for an aluminum pump. who knows what??? :D

Only 1 problemo dude...it turns in the opposite direction! Meaning..it will not work unless you have a serpentine belt system. My new serpentine system for my '72 has an '84-91 aluminum water pump, because the serpentine system turns the water pump in the opposite diretion. :yesnod:

See its always something stupid like that kills my good ideas, heres another how about a C4 glass rear spring on a C3????? :D

well just a idea, is it possible to take the pump apart and turn the propeler around? so it would be pushing the coolant in the right direction. but make sure it wont gouge the pump up. like i said, just a idea :crazy:

You can get the pump rebuilt, which entails pulling the impeller and replacing it with the impeller from a standard pump. If you know someone who has the equipment to do the job and you have a impeller, then it would be fairly easy.
If not, then you'd be better off with an aluminum one from GM High Performance Parts for $99.00.

check midwest motorsprts mostly for circle track stuff but the early aluminum vette water pumps are popular with us circle track guys. I think I paid $50.00 some odd dollars for mine from a local CT speed shop
