Anyone else speak to the previous owner of their vette?
The previous owner of mine is a local business owner in town (I am too). He just came in and spent some $$.
We speak on a regular basis and he drove the car after I got her back on the road after 24 years. Just curious about other experiences.

I see the previous owner of my vette at Carlisle. 2 or 3 owners before that, well, I can find him over in the Factory Correct restoration forum. He has a shop in Vancouver and did most of the restoration on my vette! :) MJ

I speak with the previous owner about once a month. He owned the car for 23 years prior to me buying it.

I speak to them all the time. The previous owner to my Vette was my nephew. Before that, My sister. Before that, a good friend of mine. This car has been in the family for over 20 years.

I try to keep up with the fellow I bought mine from. He owned it from '71 to '98. I sent him pictures after I redid the rear suspension, body, paint and interior. He called me up nearly in tears. Said that the car looked better than it did when he bought it in '71! :D I keep promising him a drive in it. Once I get the winter project done I'm going to make the 300 mile round trip just to let him take a spin.

No, but if I ever came across him (I'm pretty sure his name is Bubba) I'd probably smack him silly! Some of the lamest repairs I have ever seen (a lock washer for a spacer to a cotter pin, alarm wiring that almost burnt the car down on the test drive, etc, etc, etc) :cuss

I see him about every few weeks. We've been friends for over 20 years. His wife still wants me to give it back. I bought it from them in 93 and have fixed up better then it ever was when he owed it.

Yes. My dad is the previous and original owner.
I brought it to his house after I got it running and forced him to take it for a
ride. It had been 10 years since he last drove the car. He LITERALLY had a
tear in his eye when he got out. They say these cars do that to you.

I talk to him a couple times a month. I bought it from my brother a couple of years ago. He owned it for 16 years.

Lady directly across the street from me was a State Trooper, and worked many 'odd' hours. I was 'scared' to fire-up my 12-second Z28 to load on the trailer for fear of her 'busting me' (open headers). One day as I loaded-up, she walked over, saying she was a 'gear-head'. She looked-over the Z28, I let her climb-in to 'blip' the throttle, and she left, never saying a single word. 4 years later, in '00, I'm walking my dog, and see her washing a Black '82 Corvette. I asked if she 'changed jobs', and she said, "No, this is mine! I've had it 8 years, but I've got no time, so I'm selling it! She's only got 11,000-original miles on her. You know anybody who'd give it a good home?" I didn't even KNOW she OWNED a Vette; she was very 'private' by nature. I asked her to hold the leash, as I walked around the Corvette one time, before saying, "SOLD" She said, "I didn't even tell you my asking-price!" I said, "OK, how much?". She said, "I'd like to get $15,000 for it." I replied, It's STILL sold! It came with the original owner's name and the bill-of-sale, and the brother of the girl who cuts my hair bought it next, selling it to my neighbor! Sadly, my neighbor got cancer, and has been with Dale Sr. and Zora since Thanksgiving of '02.

I went to school with and am friends with the previous owner of my car. I bought it from him 3+ years ago and he still carries around a picture of it in his wallet :D

The old guy who I bought mine from (he acutally paid me on the trade of cars) told me never to bring it in his sight because of all the mods and care that I'd be doing to it. I did talk to him once afterwards though, I wanted to buy my Mustang back from him.

I talked to everyone that owned my car since it was new. Check out my CF web page and you will see a snapshot that the original owner sent me when he brought the car home from the dealer. I even traveled from Michigan down to Ohio to meet with a couple of guys that used to own it.

I had a few questions because I bought my car from Bubba. But at least he knew he had no clue, and was honest about it. And he was nice enough to help me with a few questions I had. I haven't talked to him in a while though.

The Original owner of My Vette was my Dad. He's 75 now and cant wait to go for a spin in it when its done. I like to give him a hard time about not coughing up the extra $300 bucks to get the Big Block
The coolest thing about it is that My old man is a Vette guy too!
