Heater core replacement C3 vs C4
Wow, I thought that replacing my heater core in my 78 was a pain. And when I did mine, I had the interior already out!
We replaced my brother's 92 vette's heater core this weekend. 10am Sat to 4pm and we were ready to put the new core in. WELL, the new core looked the same, but the tube was about 1/2" further away from the body of the core. We ended up heating up the core and pulling the soldered tube out. We heated the copper tubing, bent, cut and re-soldered the tube in.
We put it back in the car at 9pm and tested it. No leaks. Then it took us about another 6 hours Sunday to put the dash, wiring, and all associated brackets back in!
Whew, what a job. I wonder how much a garage would have charged!

Re: Heater core replacement C3 vs C4 (Chris@VetteFinders)
I have an L-48 manual with no AC. I think its pretty simple to replace the HC on. I believe that it has a heatercore box in the engine compartment on the firewall. No dash removal required.
"I think", "I believe" is because I haven't done it yet, but I have researched it a bit. Seems alot easier than tearing down the dash.

Sounds like real PITA, Mine was like yours, I had the interior out, so it wasn't too bad plus I changed the whole system to Vintage Air stuff.
