Default Smog Check

I received a pleasant surprise in the mail today from California DMV. My '74 doesn't require a smog check with license renewal this year. The last time it was smoged was 01 so I figured I had one more smog check, this year. Now I don't have to deal it on this car anymore, unless they change the law again.

Are you guys May tags?

I got mine a little while ago... registration due with smog. :(

Us 78 guys don't have it in our favor quite yet. Man, I could have a lot of fun breaking smog laws here and there!

The only way I'm going to be able to avoid the Smog Check is to register the car out of Alpine or Calaveras counties. They are smog exempt! Otherwise it's wait another 4 years. Then look-out!!!
