Re: Demon Carbs (Zshark)
I started out with the 750 speed demon on my vette and I currently have the 850 speed demon. Both worked great I just felt I needed a little more flow than I was getting with the 750.

Demon makes a special 650 for the ZZ4. You can find it by searching for Crate Demon carbs. I think Scroggin Dickey carries them and also Salle Chevrolet. I had mine special order from Summit when there was a 10% discount.

Re: Demon Carbs (71,454,4spd)
I have the 625 road demon. Was PERFECT for the l 48 and probably could have taken a little more motor. ZZ4 is too much for it though. Overall a great carb though. Fuel economy while you're cruising and punch when you hit it.

Re: Demon Carbs (Cookwithvette)
The 625 did not provide enough for your ZZ4? How big SHOULD we (those of us running the ZZ4) go? I was thinking of the 650, is that still too small?

Re: Demon Carbs (QuickVet)
I am running a 650 Speed Demon ........Great carb.....Much more responsive than the other three carbs I have run on the motor. Including a Holley and Quardajet and a Performer

Here is the part number on the vacuum secondary model. #1282010VEZZ4
If you want the mechanical secondary one just drop the VE out of the part number. Here is a link to a chevrolet dealership who carries them. http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...1922&pid=47226

Re: Demon Carbs (Mystery Machine)
Mystery Machine,
I found these numbers in the BG catalog at http://www.martelbros.com/cgi-bin/st...y=demon/13.htm
1282010C ZZ4 For mechanical secondaries
1282010VEC ZZ4 For Vacuum secondaries
I didn't look for a price on either carb, but figure in the price of a choke.

Re: Demon Carbs (Mystery Machine)
I used a mechanical secondary because I have a manual trans and they seem to respond better. Most people use vacuum secondary on automatic trans cars. It is pretty much your choice.
