Nitrous systems with and without superchargers
Stock 1980 L-48 with low miles ( 4 speed and carb are stock). What brand and horsepower rating will work without destroying the engine? Has anyone set up a combination with Nitrous and a low profile 144 Holley supercharger. I have one left over from my pickup and think it will go right on. The truck was injected and blown. I kept turning up the pressure until the pistons went into melt down. Now it has an injected 454 and I 'm just itchin' to find another home for the blower.

You want to put a supercharger AND nitrous on a stock 23yr old engine?? :eek:

Seriously, unless the engine was built to withstand the pressure of nitrous/blower I wouldn't try it.
I went and took the added expense and went completly forged internals so I could run a healthy shot of N2O on my BB without worry.

you could put the blower on with your compression ratio. but i wouldnt try the nitrous with it. not unless you go with all forged internals.
