Default Shift Light for Mech. Tach.?

Does anyone make a shift light for a mech. tach. If so, how does it work?

The mechanical tach is just a cable off the dist. The electrical impulse from the dist. (points) is still there. It is run off the negative wire on the dist which is the wire that goes to the points. The shift light will read this signal and know what rpm you are running. An electroinic tach is wired the same way for points.
