Which non-stock shifters will require least modifications.
I want to replace my shifter since new engine and trans warrant a shifter that will not just slide into reverse as my broken stock one does. I don't mind modifying the console a bit but don't want to scrap it entirely. Let me know if you have a shifter you like (probably non-ratchet and not hammer style). Thanks much for your help and time.

I have the Hurst Competion Plus Shifter and love it. Not sure what modifications you are referencing.
I bought a stock "look alike" shift arm and used the original ****. Currently, I am considering a Flameball.
