Just picked up a rare Corvette item
Just picked up this shift plate. Its a 68 with a 3 speed shift pattern. I think they only made a little over 300 of them. Not that I need it for anything, just could not pass it up. The price was right. I think I'll just hand it on my garage wall in a frame. Anyone else have any rare parts that they don't need, but are keeping them just because if they let them go..they will never find another?

I'd say that it's fairly rare piece all around. The '68 console top place is yet another one-year-only piece and I don't think that the 3 speed shifter pattern insert is being reproduced either.

Yea, I have a garage full of this junk...I mean rare collector parts.
How about a originial 1963 gas lid and emblem
I have been cleaning out my garage these past few weeks and have been selling a lot of these items.

instead of hanging it in your garage, which would look cool, why dont you see if you can sell it to someone who is restoring a 3speed '68 or to someone whos is falling apart? If you cant find anybody, put it on the wall.

Sure do.... I have an original 1972 pile of rust on the garage floor that used to be the seatbelt support plate. Man... it's 30 yrs old and still RUSTY!!
