Default "Rare" '73 on ebay

Just saw this '73 on ebay, title lists it as "Rare". Nothing in description to explain the rare business. Most think it rare since it is a '73 :D

Very good condition, 1973 corvette with hardtop t-tops. 4 Speed (tight). Dash is excellent, no cracks or splits. Door panels are good but have some wear. Seats are in great shape with slight wear to drivers seat (side). This was the last year of the chrome bumper..The 1974 came out with rubber bumpers!!! I am not sure of correct mileage as the title reads "exempt from disclosure". I have a low reserve (I feel) for this "vette" so bid!!! I am open to trades of equal value or more.

Nice quote " this was the last year of "THE" Chrome bumper...How about the only year with "one" chrome bumper..........

I am third owner and recently received the vehicle in a trade. This is a driver...very tight with very little rattles for a thirty year old sports car! Car was painted two years ago, was the ugly yellow gold..

How many times have you seen a Vette advertised as "rare" because its paint color is one of xxxx produced - answer = all the time.

Whoopie!

I would hope it is more than a paint color that makes something rare.

I wish we knew the production numbers for each colour for 1973 but unless someone has discovered the numbers recently, we don't have that information. :nonod:

At least it isn't advertised as a "rare 2 door" corvette.

Paul, I have to admit that I'm sort of stumped. The only thing I can think of is maybe (and I'm not sure) had the alarm switch already been moved to the driverside front fender by 1973, where this one has it on the back like 68-72?

Nope, that moved in 74 with the event of the rubber rear bumper.
