when i bought the car last fall the headlamps were stuck open,i tried to push them down but they wont move,what do i do?

From the underside...push back on the joint at the end of the actuator shaft. Once you start the movement, they should continue to fall by themselves. Maybe someone can put this into words better than I can. Also, never push down on the headlight doors from the top.
