Working on buying a pair of C5 Sport seats.....
out of a 2002. They are both 6way power so they have the motors & control pod sticking out the front. From some searches I've figured out that either I have to modify the floor boards or the seat height will be slightly higher ( an inch or two ). Is there anything else I'm missing. By the way - black leather.
Thanks Jim

Dunno 'bout the C5 seats (I've seen them in a C3 and they look killer!) but the C4 seats I put in my '73 are probably the best mod I've done ($ for $). I had to make mods to the floor pans and I had to use the old seat tracks.

Sounds really cool. I have a pair out of a 98/99 with 6 way power on both. When I tested them in the car, they are at least 2-1/2" too high, maybe more. I plan on cutting and rebuilding my floorboards lower to accommodate them properly. Still sitting in a closet for now. :(

I will be installing mine in a few weeks, or sooner if the weather permits, You have to drill out the front rivet that holds the front of the seat rail onto the main rail, this front is curved and raised which increased your height significantly. I didn't keep the power motors either, so my seats will not be all that much higher than stock. You'll love them, most comfortable and supportive seat I have sat in in a vette. There was a post last fall on how to do this so do a search.

From what I could tell, if you get rid of the front rail that raises the front of the seat, then you'll lose the default seat position angle that makes them soooo comfy. They mount in a C5 on a fairly level floorboard so the front should be angled up to sit the way they were intended.

I was also planning to install C5 seats in my '73, but one guy who has a C5 as well as several C3s told me not to. He said they have don't offer good thigh/kidney support, and recommended going with the C4 seats instead.
Do you guys agree with his opinion or not? The C5s definitely look great. Are there different models, e.g. Normal and Sport? If so, I guess it is possible that my acquaintance might have the ordinary seats instead of the more sporty ones?

Arto

Don't know for sure how they sit in a C5, but the floorpan in the C3 actually is higher in the front than the back. Cutting the curls off made the seat feel more natural for me personally, but everyone is different. Also there are different types of C5 seats, standard and sport. The sport seems to be alot more supportive. Either way your body will thank you! :D
