Small RANT about Aluminum Intakes!!!!!!!!
Aluminum Intakes are a big pain in butt. Everytime that I try to take a bolt out of it (ie. EGR valve, Thermostat housing, carb. ect.) the stupid bolt breaks. I hate that feeling when it goes snap. It is always scary when you are tapping it out. I dont understand why everybody doesnt use anti-sieze copper on all there screw threads going into aluminum. BY THE WAY: IS THERE SUCH A THING AS AN EGR BLOCK-OFF PLATE?

In regards to the bolts, try using an anti-sieze compound before putting the bolts in, just a thin filming on the bolt goes a long way.
In regards to the block off plate, yes - Holley makes them. Or you can just get a small piece of aluminum plating 1/8" or less and make one of your own.

GM Performance Parts sells an EGR blockoff plate p/n 6269414, you will also need gasket p/n 10140594.
They make aluminum intakes for us old guys - easier to lift.

It’s always good practice to use an anti-seize compound between dissimilar metals.

Yes, why didn't you tell the gentleman that installed this water hose fitting ( 35 years ago  )
No way I can get this off without destroying my intake. :reddevil
But if I ever manage, I will personnaly throw it into the electric steel melting oven.
