Don't want to ruin it!
Help!, my husbands keeps talking about all this stuff he wants to do to our 1977 corvette. I'm afraid he's gonna do something that looks stupid. He plans on drag racing it. He might have to add a roll cage. He also keeps talking about a wing (we already have the rack...) If you have a roll cage or a wing on your C3 Corvette, please post a pic so I can see what it woud look like.
Thanks,
Sarah

Welcome Sarah, can't help you with pictures, sorry. BTW, I don't know how you found us, but please don't tell my wife about this place.

Nothing wrong with drag racing. He will need a cage if he goes 11.99 or faster. The wing? I don't really care for them but it is a matter of personal taste. If he plans on going 11.99 or faster plan on some broken parts in the rear end of the car unless he puts some better parts in there. Seems like most here are in a quest for more power and speed. Part of owning a Corvette IMO. Have fun with it

Welcome aboard, But I think your husband might not be happy with what he creates. Sometimes we do things we think are Ok only to find out later it was a mistake. Why doesn't he race something other than an old corvette? An old Chevy Nova make wonderful drag cars as do Monte Carlos and both are lighter than your 77 Vette! :cry

Wings are a big NO. He probably doen't need the roll cage either. There are fast cars and then the wont a bees that have the stuff tat makes them look fast.

I didn't want to ruin the look of mine,so instead of the hole in the hood with the dual quad tunnel ram,I went with a 406.Stll plenty nasty, but looks stock with the hood closed.
In other words the wife said no to the 6-71. :blueangel:

Have him put a big bookshelf wing on the back, neons, 21" rims, single 4" exhaust with a big neon fart can attached to it. Then when 16 year old girls start following around saying how nice his Honda Corvette is, then maybe he'll take it all off :)

I would drag race it primarily. My dad bought his '64 in '70. Since then it has been completely converted to a full drag car. Now we need to make it legal to drive it on the street. Then it will be fun again. The car hasn't even been started since '88. What fun is a Corvette you can't drive any day?

My 1980 corvette is totally RICED out. The guy I got it from put a metal wing, and carbon fiber all over it. I will post pics but I am definately changing all that stuff.
