Look who came to give me a visit this morning!!!!!!!!
When I got out of the shower the dogs were doing a little funny bark I don`t usually hear from them. I told them to hush. As I was getting ready I heard something going on in my gargage. I thought my father in law had showed up early and was out there working. So I opened the door and saw nothing. Then all of a sudden this HAWK comes flying out from behind the corvette and is trying to get out the window. I raised the garage door immediately and then started snapping a few pics. I have caught several birds in my garage before and have even caught them by hand and released them. But there is no way I am gonna go out there with this guy. He can have the garage as long as he needs it. I just hope he doesn`t decide to drive off in my car. I have about 10 pics of him. He looks worn out right now so I thought I would come back in here and give him some time own his

I get snakes, the occasional mouse and once a cat, but never a raptor!

Did he just fly in there thru your open door?? Maybe he chased a mouse into your garage!! For a second there I thought that piece to the left of the hawk was some kind of an egret. :) MJ

Nice. Looks like a falcon instead of a hawk...but still cool.
Hope he's alright.

Spring is in the air, can't you guys tell that he is in love, and is strutting his stuff! They can see a mouse in a field from far away, but he can't identify a glass bird standing next to him. The bird must really be frustrated at this time. Roger L. Gibbons

The dark piece is one of those shields that goes across the front of the hood. It is for my sons truck. He took it off yesterday.
Our dryer vents into the garage and we open the garage just about a foot to keep the moisture content down in the garage. He had to have walked in there. Go figure. BTW in five years I have never seen a trace of a mouse but there is always the possibility.
After I raised the garage door I stood there and snapped those pics. I closed the door into the house and came in and posted. He finally found his way out. Hopefully none the worse for wear.

Cool...looks like a young one. Probably in the learning curve and not sure where its supossed to be. Glad to hear it found its way out. I doubt it really wanted to be there in the first place. You got lucky to see one up close.

Very
When I lived in a semi-rural area of California (El Cajon), I had one of those houses that hung off the side of a mountain...(like the kind you see on the 6:00 news during mudslides). I looked out the window and was watching my cat sleeping on the branch of a dead tree. At the very moment I happened to be looking...S-W-O-O-S-H , this hawk/falcon/eagle(?) came out of the sky like a kamikaze and hit the cat with its claws. I guess he changed his mind at the last second after sizing up his "prey" and decided he was too big to carry to the nest, but he didn't "hook 'em up".
At the same moment, the cat did one of those "OH $H|T" moves that cats do when you surprise them as they sleep. He rolled over on his back and started clawing the air (hawk/eagle/falcon was long gone). Well...the D.S. forgot he was 20' off the ground. It was like watching the Roadrunner/Coyote cartoons, where Wile E. Coyote hangs in the air for a few seconds before falling...
Cat hit the ground with a thud and took off running. To this day, he still doesn't know what hit him. If I had a video camera running, it would be a $100,000 winner.

He's welcome to any of the snakes that come into my garage throughout the year :yesnod: . That's very cool to find a hawk in your garage & then get some pics of it  !
