Demographics of C3 Forum. Who are we?
I have seen a pretty significant shift in the C3 Forum population in the last two years to the performance side. That is a subjective view not based on stats. Let's get the stats. I am sure the Moderators will be interested. What are your interests in your C3 Corvette. Please feel free to add a category. Many thanks!

The '74 stock 350 was a *dog*. Not butchering up the dog though.

Stock=original C3 look with whatever, an Autozone starter, no need for "numbers."
Original= Correct GM parts but not necessarily the right "production" part but a "service" equivalent (e.g my 1979)
Mods on Engine with original engine. Still looking for stock look with a performance increase.
Mods on body; flares, etc. C2 stingers on a C3 hood.
Beater: Did I leave a piece of my frame behind at the last red light? I did a burnout but something was dragging on the left side. That does look like like a trailing arm....

I will mod just about everything except the body. I like to change things to make the car work better (or go faster), but it's nice to keep the overall look stock. I am always looking at other C3's to buy (I would like a second one), and I always like the looks of the stock bodies of all of the different versions.

Re: Demographics of C3 Forum. Who are we? (paul79)
For my 72, I have always wanted a stocking looking and functioning car. Correct GM parts are the first choice, but I will always use what is best in terms of price and quality.
But just today I am seriously considering black Hooker sidepipes... :D
My next Vette will be stock looking body, but I will use a GM crate engine and the latest in suspension and brake upgrades, as well as custom wheels/tires.
Perhaps one day I can see myself attempting a frame-up resto of a needy Vette. I would feel good returning a mistreated and neglected Vette to its former showroom glory.

I like modified and stock looking vettes as long as they are done tastefully. Prefer to leave mine mostly stock in apperance, excluding a few things 17" rims, tail lights, and rear bumber cover (80'). Spent most of my time upgrading suspension, frame, and drivetrain.

Really though - my vette could be the BEATER definition before resto,
but it will definitely be MODS on BODY before I'm all done.
The nice thing here is that we all realize that everyone's tastes are slightly
different, and we can tolerate (at least) any reasonable rendition.
I fit into the Performance group - int/engine/exhaust/tranny/suspension mods rule.
At the same time I appreciate the more pure tastes and attitudes that keep
the C3 remembered as it was in it's day.

Better performance through drive train and suspension mods but leave body and interior prity much alone.

Engine, Suspension and a few interior mods but the body should be left alone:) I'm thinking about replacing the guage cluster and consoles with black guages on a brushed aluminum console but I haven't decided for sure whether or not I want to use the blue digital guages...

Re: Demographics of C3 Forum. Who are we? (paul79)
Many performance guys have body mods that may not be noticeable even to Corvette owners like removal of emblems such as 454 & L-82, replacement of 74 rear bumper w/ 75-77, Stingray emblems- even some Vette owners say they cannot recognize w/o !
Have several minor & only one that has been posted- the Indy ft. spoiler.
Different hoods or mods to hoods are common.
If I had bought a different yr. like 70, the body mods would be more noticeable.
BTW, Sometimes we describe our racing engines as "basically stock".

I have upgraded the entire drivetrain front to rear. The engine has been upgraded also. I upgraded (to me) the hood to an LT-1 style but this will be the extent of my body upgrades. The interior will be mostly stock when I get done.
Upgrade the drivetrain and leave body and interior stock.

Matching numbers on major components. Near stock on entire appearence. Ie; sidepipes, yellow lettered tires and am/fm cassette being the exceptions.
