Default How do I replace the power window motor? 1977

My power window finally gave up. I have a new motor, but can't figure out how to install it. The panel is off, the access panel is off, and the two obvious bolts are out. Thats as far as I got.
The AIM doesn't really admit that these things are connected. The Haynes manual is so frustrating...
"Since the motor you are replacing obviously works, use it to roll the window up. Once you have the assembly out of the car and in a vise, this book can help you."
Not what I need at the moment.
How do I replace this thing?
Thanks,
Jim

There are three bolts holding the motor in to the regulator. You will need someone to help and manually lift the window up to get two the three bolts. I had my wife hold the window up until I could get a bolt between the regulator. After that it was just a point of working in a small space blindly.

I got it (pats self on back)! The motor was siezed, so there was no chance of getting the window up. So to make a long story short, I suspended ratcheting box end wrenches from ropes and used magnets and screwdrivers to get those three bolts out. And don't forget the flashlight suspended in the door. Very important
Thank you Seansod

I know this is an old thread but I ran into the same issue where my motor froze with the window all the way down. This thread gave me the hope I needed to get the motor out. They really didn't make any provision for this scenario at all!

This was my solution - a metal yard stick with a ratcheting end wrench on one end and a regular wrench on the other. It was tight and time consuming but did the trick:
