Yes it legal. BUT beware it may not be legal if you are running in a particular class. They MAY try to move you in a "electronics" class which you do NOT want (conists of cars equipted with delays, thus mostly 9 and 10 second cars). I know when I checked about a electronic nitrous flow device such as a Jacob's Mastermind I would be forced in to the electronic class. I'd just check your rule book if you are running in class or for points.

Rev limiters are not considered as something to ban you from non electronics classes.
My question is why design it if you can buy it?

I have a two stage setup with the Crane H6r box. I just use it for a low limit during line lock burn outs.
When I was into dragster racing we used a two stage that was activated/deactivated by the line lock button. It made the trannies last alot longer because your not under full power because the engine is missfiring even though your at wide open throttle

Two steps are legal in bracket racing and even in NHRA Stock/Superstock as a launch control , however if you use a two step as a down track rev limiteror a delay box where you're not suposed some guys with a rope might be coming to look for you and the nearest tree  this is what they mean by electronics. A two step for launch is okay, it could be wired in with the line- loc release or as a release switch under the clutch pedal in a 4-spd. car :steering:
