'68 Wiper nightmare!
It's been two months sitting outside at a reputable Corvette shop, and still not working, I finally decided to take it home. They were pissed.
We have changed the wiper activator, relay switch, wipermotor, wiper switch, and the master switch. We had an electrical shop try to find any shorts, and this went on for two months.
Next Sunday Maurice will bring his '69 and a mechanic will try to compare maurices' and my car to see if everything is put back correctly.
Any ideas, diagrams, etc. on this wiper door will be most appreciated.
Hula girls for any one who can solve this problem. A 300 pound one.

I allways approach any electrical problem from an old ET standpoint...
so the first thing is make sure the metal case frame of the wiper motor is in fact grounded....no miswiring on that stupid black heavy gauge wire to the engine ground near the starter....with the key on and wipers on....measure that case ground, it better be grounded...no voltage on it...
second off, with door all the way open....check that the heavy red wire had system voltage on it...12+ volts, check the yellow wires too, 12+ volts....
there are 2 separate 12volt sources for this system....I dunno why, don't think they are needed, just done that way for some reason....
if all voltages are present, motor should run when switch is flipped....if voltages are NOT present it will NOT run....
block all vacuum lines, and move door open for these tests....
lemme know what you find....weill go from there....

Thanks... Big time help!
Hello,
I e-mailed you a copy of a 68 Chevrolet service bulletin on the wiper system.
Hopes this helps.

I feel for you man. I have the same problem and have not figured it out yet either. If you find anything else further, please let me know and I'll do the same.

Hey, I have an old "Corvettes in Paradise" Club T-shirt. Do they still exist? I have no idea where I got the shirt. There are differences in a 68 and 69 wiper set up. I had both at the same time for a while.

Re: '68 Wiper nightmare! (68rdstr)
68 and 69 systems ARE different. The differences are in the internal and external wiring of the motor itself and in the wiring harness. SO....if you're trying to get a 69 up motor to work with your original 68 harness, you'll have trouble. Also, if you replaced the wiring harness, it won't work with an original 68 wiper motor.
68RDSTR sent me a copy of the service bulletin. THANK YOU. Read it, and you'll see the differences. Chuck

Ok, I have to ask. what is the problem and you did check that the under dash **** wasn't on so the wipers sit for changing. or that the door open switch is working when the door is open.
