I won't have the $$$$$ for mine until this summer, and I'll be installing it next winter, while I have time to detail the engine bay too

wes76...

There are some other forum members besides Olivier who have(or had) AR 383's in the *running* condition in their vettes. Maybe they will pop in this thread.

I haven't heard anything from the recent buyers as to their progress with the 383's. I'm sure you will see lots of pics when one of'em fires up... or putters out.

I'm still waiting on the engine. Mark Lim (the owner I believe) is hand porting and polishing the heads and intake for me and he had to have some kind of surgery on his hand. Anyways, he is finally healling up and should finish very soon. Hopefully I will have it in a few weeks or sooner. Believe me, I'll let you guys know. I'm so excited about it. :steering:

My AR Racing 406 is being custom balanced and painted and should be shipping next week. Lars and the rest of the CCC crew will be handling the install shortly thereafter

Mark and I are developing the spec's for a Gen VI 540ci that he will be building and bench/dyno tuning for me... He aproximated 5weeks to complete. I'm hoping he can get started in the next 30days or so. I'll post on the progress, results, etc...

Yeah, I was thinking about one too. I am interested to hear about them.

The one I was looking at on the site said it was a rough idle due to the cam. I don't think I would mind. No power brakes. But for 3grand its still hard to commit to.

I'm sure that the combo will be streetable.. However - I would be concerned about the differential and in general about the whole rear end of the car which isn't designed for that much horsepower... Well - there are possible upgrades.. but they ain't cheap...

My engine has a pretty radical cam.. and the car is very driveable.. The only thing that could bother someone is that the engine is very nervous at lower RPM and speed.... I always downshift to drive smooth.. In my opinion - for someone that knows how to drive - my Vette is as streetable as any other car if you know how to drive her...
