Air cleaner replacement..PCV valve?
Alrighty, replaced the engine, and man that old thermostatic air cleaner makes it look like crud. So I bought a 14" Edlebrock chrome one- what do I do with the PVC hose comming out of my block? There isn't anyplace on the cleaner to attach it to. Do I just plug the hose? Oh yeah, emissions not an issue- she is exempt.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You need the PCV.. The crankcase cannot vent with out it unless you use the valve cover breathers but you will get smelly blow-by oil vapors everywhere if the engine isn't perfectly fresh. There sould be a "knock-out" plug in the new air cleaner. PVC goes to manifold vacuum and the other side to the air cleaner.

Are you sure that the the new air cleaner didn't come with a plastic fitting to adapt the PCV to it? I haven't used an Edelbrock air cleaner but most of the after market units I've seen have had a knock-out on the aircleaner base for an adapter. If yours doesn't have one, it shouldn't be to difficult to do it yourself. Another option would be to use a valve cover breather and plug the vent from the block. In either case, you definitely need to provide a source of air into the crankcase.

I get it, but I guess I need another piece of PCV hose, 'cause my old one doesn't reach by acouple of inches..
