I have installed brass drain plugs in my 1973 454 engine. Does anyone know if I will have problems with galvanic action between the brass plugs and the cast iron engine block? Thanks for your input! :confused:

Do you mean drain plugs or freeze plugs? Either way, I've never seen the brass cause any problems.

Assuming your referring to freeze plugs, all high end machine shops use brass, and all marine motors use brass because the steel plugs corrode. I would only use brass.

Go ahead and use brass plugs, they will come out easier down the road, and they will not corrode like steel. Use brass freeze plugs and water jacket drain plugs.

Brass is the best way to go. Don't worry at all about it,you did the right
