Default How can I determine if........

the center link is bent?? I actually have three - long story  Each one is slightly different than the other. I have them hanging together in the garage and the differences are slight, but noticable. The angles for the tie rods & idler arm arm different as well as the P/S control valve.

Does it matter since the tie rods rotate anyway? Manufacturing tolerances? Thought I'd bolt all three up & see which one fits better.

Yea you can set the toe-in while it is sitting still and the wheels are straight ahead (with a bent center link.) :jester

But when you are turning, you'd be turning one wheel more than the other and causing tire wear. Hope this helps. :flag

Well - after comparing all three - don't ask why I have three  One is bent between the tie rod hole & the threads for the control valve. So that would put the center link on an angle as it crosses the car. Guess that one going in the garbage.....
