parking brake handle question
i bought a whole parking brake handle asssembly from a 76 just to replace the little black release button on my 78 that keeps popping off when pushed. my question is: how do i get the little button out of the parking brake from the 76? i've been tugging very hard and it does not want to come. is there a trick or something? thanks.

No tricks, it aint supposed to come off. When you remove it, it will probably come off just like the old one. You might try heat with a heat gun to soften the plastic a little. Why not use a little epoxy and reinstall the old one. See if that will work first.

They were just pressed on to that searated shaft and there was no intention for them to ever come off. If you pull it off, those searations will take material with them and make the new one less likely to hold.
