I am trying to remove the zbar to install my headers and I am stuck!!! :banghead: I un screw it from the block and it gets real loose
and wables around but wont let go. I screw it all the in to the block and and it
gets real tight so it seems screwing it out is right but what am I doing wrong
help me please I am freezing and flustrated :cry

Oh man, it's been a LONG time since I took mine out or put it back in but...
I think there's a c-clip or other retaining setup that holds the Z-bar to a ball stud. There are ball studs and bushings all around the clutch actuation stuff, I can't recall what is where...
hope someone can help ya soon!

have you removed the nut on the other side?Its a 9/16" nut.If you have removed it,it should just pop right out..
Or have i missed something? :smash: :cheers:

Yes it is the same on a small block. Undo the nut on the other side and you do not have to remove the ball stud from the block. Once the nut is off teh Z bar slides up and off teh ball stud and out of the car.

Correct. This nut has a french lock that keeps it from backing out. Be careful not to break off the tab of the lock so you can re-use it. If you do break it you can get one through any of the vendors.....or try you local autoparts or GM dealer.
