Default Headlamp open sensor

My Headlamp light on the center console comes on when I turn the lights on.
I am suspecting one of the "Open" sensors is bad. Anyone replaced one of these?

There are actually two switches, one in each headlight assembly. They are little microswitches in sealed plastic housings, the mounting "screw" is molded as part of the housing and that is what was broken on mine (in addition to a broken wire in the harness on one side).
You shouldn't have any trouble finding them, but make sure you are sitting down when you check the prices though :cry . I think I paid around $40.00 each for them.

It probably broke.

You have one on each headlight. One nut and they are off.

Most of the venders carry them, about $25.

If you unplug the broken switch, the light will go out.

Hope this helps.

My right hand one was broke when I bought my car. The switch works but the plastic threads were snapped off. A couple of ty-wraps later and everything works. I ty-wrapped the switch closed and ty-wrapped it out of the way.

Replace switch is about $25. When one of mine broke I just unplugged the wires and tie them up out of the way. Once I removed the switch the lamp housing was very hard to close - The switch prevented the linkage from going another 1/8" which put the linkage in a bind. I just put a section of rubber hose over the end of the stop and the light raises and shuts fine. Yes, I know its a bubba.
