New Paint Job...Have you ever seen it and do you like it?
I want to get a paint job that is all chrome. There is a painter in San Diego from House of Kolors that is in the last stages of a Chrome like paint job. He deals mostly in Motorcycles...But how cool would that be to have an all chromed C3. (Close your eyes and imagine it) hehe, oh yeah...I'm going for it....maybe
So what do you think and Why..to refer to post you can say 1 (your vote) then put why...

Hot Wheels and Sizzlers used to have chrome cars. As much as I love custom, I can't imagine a chrome car . . . maybe black chrome.

Haven`t seen one yet. I would need to see one first to make this call.

Yeah, maybe black chrome but good Lord, would that be legal? I can just imagine all the wrecks you would cause by blinding the other drivers on the road on a clear summer day.
I would NOT like to see one on the road but I would like to see what one would look like in a show or museum. Please don't do that and drive it during the day unless everyone in your town wears welders glasses in the day. :auto: :banghead:
Edit - I just checked, you live in Florida. That would be suicide on the streets.

They had a fully chrome car at the North American Car Show. They had a special report on TV a couple of weeks back.
It would be hard to keep clean and keep the finger prints off.

i saw a chrome show car, and while it was good for a show piece, i would never want to be near it on the road. its too much of a hazard. black chrome might be cool, but still has the same refelctive properties.
just my opinion though. :)

An all chrome car [painted or otherwise] is not for me. It would look like a giant bumper coming down the road. :lolg:
I'll keep the little chrome I have on the back end of my 73.
Thats my 2 cents on the thought. But if you like it then go for it.

Once saw a sticker on a fully chromed motorcycle that said:
" Chrome won't get you home"
" Of course, who's going home anyway!"
It will be difficult to keep clean. Unless it is a show car only, I wouldn't do it.
Seems like it would be a REAL HIGH DOLLAR project to get all the panels smooth and free of waves. Think of how difficult it is to get perfect black paint - then multiply by 10. ANY imperfection would leap out at you.
Even with a perfectly smooth surface on the car, with all the curves on a C3, you would get a "Fun House of Mirrors" effect.
Plus how does this sound......" But Officer, it must have been some other Fully Chromed Corvette! ...." ?

It would be hard to get an outdoor picture of it though

I've seen it on a bike (you can see anything at Bike Week in Daytona  ) Although it is definitely eye catching could you imagine the upkeep on something like that? You know how bad it looks when just the small chrome parts get dirty? BUT, if you want it I say go for it!

Not an option for me.. Gorvernment rules do not allow things like that because of the traffic hazards

I owned a bike that was all chrome. Everyone asked the same questions:
"wont the AZ sun reflect off the tank and bother your eyes?"
nope, never had a problem, actually I was able to look down and see how cool I looked while riding.
"isint it tough to clean?"
nope, most of the time I used a soft dry cloth and windex to remove the fingerprints.
If the vette was made out of metal instead of 'glass I would have had it done.
If done right it would look cool
JMO
cheers

Did anyone else's Micafee Drug Scan software beep on this thread? I'll swear it went off several times.
A complete Chrome Vette on the streets??
