Default 69 AIM page j295

OK I'm still working on the W.wipers. It shows a black lead coming from the blower motor going to the ww motor. I can't find a place to hook this black wire on my motor. I have a reman. wiper motor. The motor will not work even though it shows 11.8 volts at the terminal. What is the black wire for? Could this be the source of my problems? :banghead:

Could it be a ground wire?

Yes, that is most likely the source of the problem. There is supposed to be a small 'L' shaped connector on the upper drivers side mount screw. That wire clips to that connector. Just put a round connector on it. Pull that screw and reinstall with the wire connected.

It is a ground, on my non-standard 69 wiper motor the ground is connected to a blade type terminal lug on one of the wiper motor bolts, with a slip on connector. I'm going to insert a picture of my wiper motor, at the top of the motor behind the white washer distribution manifold you'll see a black wire. That's where the lug is attached to the motor case bolt. Make sure you click on the picture so it will display to its full size because it is hard to see.

Thanks everyone! I figured it was some sort of ground, just couldn't figure out where it was supposed to plug in. :D
