Default Q jet electric choke conversion?

I have a Qjet that I would like to change to electric choke. The old setup was with the little metal box with the spring inside attached to the intake manifold. I am using this carb now on a low rise LS6 intake, which has a place to mount the old style spring mechanism, but I also am using a 3/4" adapter to fit the Qjet to the square flange opening, so I don't think the old spring setup will work anymore. Any help appreciated.

If you buy the QEC-3 (electric conversion for divorced style Q-Jets) you will still have to get a longer choke rod. This electric conversion mounts in the stock location.

I got one and it works great. I did use the original choke rod and it was too long so I bent it to work.
