Cheese grater gills
this is for the 70-72 guys, has anyone ever converted their gills to the 69 style? in my oppinion the 69 style looks much better. Whats your take on things, i think i have this oppinion because of the chrome.

Re: Cheese grater gills (battsup)
I prefer the '69 style, but I wouldn't go to the trouble of converting them. The "cheese grater" or "egg crate" gills look fine to me.

Re: Cheese grater gills (The Saint)
The egg crates are chrome and are usually painted over. There are supposed to leave the ribs uncovered to let the chrome shine through. Some on here have even left the paint off totally to let the whole chrome egg crate shine.

I prefer the looks of the 69 but the convenience of the cheese grates is real handy. Being able to access the sides of the engine and accessories from the side is important to me.

I'm pretty partial to the egg crate grills. How would you change it back to the '69 look, replace the fenders?

Sorry, off topic...but that's the best Domo-kun picture I've seen in a while. :lolg:
Here's a whole thread full of 'em.

69s look better to me, but wonder if 69 grill and side crates would look good together, maybe black grill and all chrome side crates. I also would like to know if anyone has converted over. Aint 69s plastic?

Re: Cheese grater gills
 So I have a 1969 and I've got the '70-'72 style "egg-crates" already in my car, that's the way I bought it. Would anyone want to buy my used fenders when the time comes I pull them off and go for a stock appearance?
