Default thermostat

What is the correct thermostat for a 77 SB? Can't get to my owners manual because it is in the car and I have blankets over the roof and doors and the hood on top of the blankets :rolleyes: Thanks for any help. :seeya

I put a 180 degree tstat in mine when I was building the engine. I would also recommend that you should get one that will fail in the open position.

195 is the official number for L-48, 180 for L-82.

I am one hundred percent positive on the L48 cuz I took out the 180deg to replace it with the original style 195 rececntly :)
