Default Holy grail drama (1970 LS6)LONG THREAD!!!

I followed a link here to another vette forum and started lurking and came across this thread. It made for some interesting reading. I'll reserve my comments until later. The thread in the link is 10 pages so consider yourself warned:)

Having suffered for 10 pages, I believe IMHO that this is BS and the guy backed off as soon as the flag was raised. He *may* have believed in the possibility but I think the non-posting of the window sticker and the mysterious tank sticker problems are the biggest indicator here.

That being said, he has a nice car and should enjoy it regardless of the pedigree.

The reason this is a hoax is answered in the first 3 pages......His VIN is 194370s406295, then he says it was purchased "in late 1970". An early build purchased later in the year? This guy is a jackster!!!!!!!!

The link to the Bob Wingate and James Garner Corvettes was  every thing else was pretty much what i expected  although Chevrolet most likely used a '70 to mockup the LS-6 option it would have been disposed of ( crushed :cry ) and not gotten into public hands let alone been ordered from a dealer. But it's no LS-6
Ken

........and he keeps offering carrots "I worked at the Tanawanda plant" but delays any real info because "I'm at work now" or "I'm in California" or "My wife is a dumb blonde"........This really juices me!!!!! But thanks Brett for the interesting post.

I'm in NO way a Corvette expert, but I am a retired detective. Too many holes/excuses in this guys story.

Actually this is quite possible since 1970 production didn't start until January 1970 and the dealer prinipal ordered the car as his personal car it's quite likely that it sat in the showroom and was driven around for a few moths this was and still is a common practise with expensive cars and if it was a small dealership it could have sat for a while.

Could you just give me the executive summary? I can't read thru all that crap! I tried starting at page 10 and that didn't work too well either. :( MJ

OK Ken that may be true.....but how about the fact that this guy's very first post is about a '70 LS6...and he's never said how he's determined it's an LS6.....he also says he doesn't know anything about Vettes..but he knows enough to know that a '70 LS6 is really rare. CHEEZY JACKSTER!!!!!

By the way....Kiwis Love Canadians

At first my jaws dropped, but when I was in something like page 5 or 6 it began to be only entertainment... Pretty bad hoax anyway... Maybe even a factory BB, but surely not 21k miles driven LS6, all original... :bs

Standup in no way was i trying to validate this guy's claim because when you look at the engine photos there are so many things wrong you don't even know where to begin it's just that cars do sit around at dealerships for various reasons, thats the only thing i was trying to point out. His story has more holes than Swiss cheese.
By the way...... we Canucks love Kiwis
