Default Being a writer for a Corvette magazine

Going through some old high school garbage, I was reminded that I was a decent writer way back when and won a few essay contests in AP english. I had the idea that it might be fun to write an article or two for a Corvette or hot rod magazine. Anyone have any idea where you would go to get started in that kind of career? Anybody here work for any magazines of that genre? :chevy :steering:

You can probably get started by just submitting articles for publication as a freelance... I do it with Photography and it works well.

Sounds good to me clink! I'll start my first article this weekend. Any ideas on what would make a good article?

Just like Clink69 said, write it good and have good, clear photographs and someone will want it. You might want to start by calling some editors and getting their opinion on what kind of articles they would be interested in. Bob Wallace of Vette Magazine is a nice guy. I'm sure he would help with subjects, requirements and length. Give other editors a call also. It's not hard to do it and it's not magic but it has to be done well. Good luck!

If you want to be published on the web, write a story and take digital pics and I'll put it up for you. I won't do any editing, spell checking or anything else though...my writing sucks :D I will make thumbnail images for the larger ones. You can even include video if you like. If anyone's interested let me know, I'll start a monthly column section or something....and everyone can read it free with no delivery problems :jester

A topic for your article could be "THE LOST CORVETTE -1973"
If you do some research on the 73, you will find lots of controversy and some unique features as, a one year build, no chrome bumper- front ,but chrome rear, Zoras favorite, and why after 30 years is still a red headed step child, etc. Hey, you have to start somewhere, so, this would be as good a place as any.
