After front spring job, noise developed...
The noise is random, and it's a very light clunk. Could it be that the ball joints are not tight enough? When I push the car back and forth on the tire the clunk can be heard as well. Very faintly...

Do you mean ball joint to spindle or ball joint to CA? How are you pushing on the car(tire)? In a forward -backward direction as in how the car would drive? Or pushing the tire in & out toward & away from the engine?
Did you re-check the lower shock bolts?

Pacin'California,
Presume bolts are all torqued properly. The alignment shims in place?
When you press on the tires is the noise the same if you push on the driver's side or the passenger's side?
Any looseness in the steering linkage (tie rods)? Looseness in the front sway bar bushings or sway bar links to the A-Arm?

Pacin'California,
What all was worked on along with the spring job? New ball joints, etc.?
Does the car sit properly (too high/too low)? Was the spring installed with the proper clearance from the spring stop in the spring tower?

I'll double check the lower shock bolts. That really does not sound like a bad idea.
We are not positive of the clearance to the stop in the upper tower, we matched to the lower tower. Is it okay to drive the car as is? The car does not have any kind of adverse reaction when the noise is made. (No steering pull or anything like that.)
The driver's side lower ball joint was replaced during the job, but tightened back up quite well.

Pacin'California,
The A.I.M. for my 1980, and the Corvette Shop manual, both show the end of the coil spring being aligned 0.38" plus/minus 0.12" from the spring stop at the top of the spring tower.
