Im a tried and true chevy man for sure and Ill never sell my Vette. Having said that I wanted to take a chance to compliment one of our rival cars. The new Mustang. I saw a pic of it on the cover of Auto Week mag and flipped thru. Ford went way back in the styling cues on this one. In my opinion its the best looking thing they've put out in a long time. It looks mean again. I kinda like it. ok...bash away now... :smash: :smash: :smash:

I have a 99 Cobra. I haven't seen the new one but I think the looks of my Cobra are only OK :rolleyes: ... fun to drive though :D

I dont think its out untill 2004. They did sacrifice some areodynamics for the old stlye "mean" look. Definatly closely rooted the the earlier Stangs.

Its prolly just the concept, the production one will not look exactly like that. The concept looks cool though.

Thanks for puttin that pic up Ferve. But wait till you see a full photo shoot in a mag like i did with full frontal close ups straight on. Its tuff lookin. The pic you posted helps, but a full mag photo shoot definatly does it more justice. The ones I saw were a red hard top and a red convertable. Theres rumor of a 4.6 liter supercharged option producing 400hp and 390ft/lbs with a 6 speed manual trans.

I saw the new Mustang on TV two Sundays ago, it really looked :cool: Looks like they went back to the old style a little. I hear its also supposed to have some horsepower, but I'm not sure what.

I saw the concepts quite a while ago when I still got Motor Trend and the like, I liked the classic style but I had little faith in management letting it live. If this is in fact anywhere close the final model, congrats to Ford, obviously modern but lookin' sweet like an old fastback. :cheers: If Chevy did something similar with the Corvette rather than "Europeanizing" it like I've seen in some spy photos, yeh, that'd be a good thing.

I think they need to rotate headlights around 180 degress so that the lines lead away from the front, not down into the ground. Makes it look like it is crying. I would to if I was a Ford.

It's not too bad looking. Much better than the current style but it's still too slab sided. It looks like a mid '90's 3 series. Still, the styling cues from the original body are integrated well. Put a shaker hood and a Boss 429 or a cammer, now we're talking!
