Default Tach Cable

While driving into work this morning I notice that my tach needle was bouncing and I could hear what I thought was the tach cable squealing/squeaking. So I have to ask - is it already toast or is there something I can do to salvage it?

As always - Thanks!!!!

The cables are pretty cheap, Scott. I want to say under $20 for the tach cable, and not *too* hard to replace.

Theres an adapter you can get that srews on the end of the tach & speedo cable that allows you to grease the cable. I use a synthtic grease it takes the bounce out of the gauge.

I have the same adaptor, no bounce. Wayne, what kind of grease is acceptable to use and how often?
