61 amp on the 70 LT-1.
If you are planning on mods to the electrical system in terms of stereos, foglights, etc, you may need a higher amp alternator.

Here's a page from ZIP to confuse you:
http://store.yahoo.com/zipproducts/e...ternators.html
I would think the '61 or 63' (whatever that is) amp alt would work.

unless your running a "killer stereo" and A/C the 100amp should do you fine. from my experience the 42 amp was installed when there weren't a lot of heavy draws on the system (no A/C, or P/W etc.) as the option loads were added the altenator size increased. My daughters car has a 42 amp from GM (no A/C or PW) and my brother had a '75 Olds custom cruiser wagon that was loaded and only had a 63 Amp installed. I'm not sure what's on my '74 as Bubba got there first, :banghead: completely wrong Alt..... I think it's from a mid year, no regulator.
