on the block, just in front of head (where it mates to the block) on passenger side. You may have to do some cleaning / scraping to see the stamped number. If the block deck has been milled, the number could be gone.

kaz1961, I needed to know the same thing a few weeks ago. A member gave me this address: mortec.com/castnum.htm
It will tell you the places to look for your heads, block, etc. I found that mine was original, found my # @ the back of the block. :steering:
