Coil overs or fiberglass front mono spring?
VBP sells the front monospring kit and I saw a coilover kit in the new vette magazine. Which would you guys recommend?

Which company is that coilvover from? I'd be interested i that... As for the monospring kit, I don't have any experience with it but I don't like it. I like their a-arms but the monospring idea is just bad in my opinion.

I thought the front mono spring was supposed to make our C3's handle more like a C4...If so, then that is what I would get.

I have the monospring kit, and I'll be adding coil overs as well. Company called Jim Meyer Racing sell light weight tubular a arms with coil overs to fit C2 and C3 Corvette's so that might be something to look into. Coil overs let you choose the ride height, damping rate etc, so my vote goes to coil overs.

Does anyone know what the Jim Meyer Racing kit is selling for? They don't have any prices on their web site yet they have been advertising the product for two months now.

I'd say Coil over. A company in Germany installs the Koni 8212 double adjustable series coil overs on the front & rear. The kit is pretty simple, I just need to figure out the length of the coilovers. These coil overs are available for a wide variety of appliations. They're probably not the SPA1 shocks since those are for dragracing, replacing the 90/10 based shocks. I would be interested in the road course shocks (the non SPA1). Only problem, Koni is a Dutch company yet the 8212's are probably made in the US as they're only available from Koni North America. The double adjustables are expensive (around or over 400$ a shock). The single adjustables are cheaper, the 8211 are single adjustable steel and even more economical. Then there's the 8216 shock, which is around 150$. I however suspect the last 2 series are drag racing only. There also are 2816 and 2817 series. The 2816 is the bare damper of the 2817.
Does anyone know the stock length and compressed height of the stoch shock absorber? That should give an idea which shock to choose.

The thing about coil overs is that the upper mount is the frame. As our frames are configured, that would be the upper shock mount, which is nowhere near strong enough to support the weight of the car. So either the upper shock mount and or the frame would have to be modified, or they are somehow employing the stock spring pocket as the upper mount. I'd be really interested to know the details of this.

You are right there, the upper shock mount needs to be removed and a coil over mount needs to be welded on, they're commonly available from sources like speedwaymotors. The hole in the spring pocket also needs to be enlarged quite a bit.

If you figure out what length the rears would have to be let me know im interested in doing coil overs in the rear.

I know about the ACP stuff, I think I told you about them. I can;t find the stuff at the Meyer site, I would like tubular A-arms, ACP uses the stock arms. Of course one could use the VB&P arms. Mike at ACP?? Talk to Jörg Vogelsang, he's the owner.

yeah, their site is annoying, especially if you have the speakers turned on.
What did they want for the setups? Something around 1500Euro for the front and the same for the rear right? Those shocks are about 450$ each, although you can get them cheaper (I think summit has them for around 380$)
