Default Bouncing Speedo

Does anyone else have a problem with there speedomiter needle bounceing up and down when at lower speeds? What would be the cause of something like that?

Thanks

Mine did on my '69 when I got it. I lubed the cable, still bounced, replaced the whole thing, still bounced, replaced the speedo gear and seals, and voila, it works right now.

Our '84 Honda did that for awhile but it finally got completely stuck and the cable twisted until it broke. Lubing the cable is probably the first step or just replacing it if it's cheap. My vette did this to but it magically went away for some reason? Maybe it's a summer thing. Hope I helped.

I had the same problem on my '77 L-48. If you are equipped with cruise control, you may have a faulty transducer. You can replace it for about a c-note.

Try lubing or replacing your cable first. If no fix, replace your transducer. For the record, my '79 does it too.

Yes, I replaced the (lower) speedo cable first... because it snapped! (Also a symptom of a faulty transducer! :D)
