Default For you Electrical Guru's

Every time I use my turn indicator the horn goes off! I know that it is because the indicator stalk is coming into contact with the column surround, but for the life of me I cannot see how my indicator stalk is completing the circuit since it is embedded in the nylon indicator switch assy.
Any thoughts?

It is providing a ground to complete the circuit. You may have a weak spring on the horn ring, I know that the ring and tabs get bad. Try a search in the archives or FAQ sections and check the diagrams to verify yours is all there and assembled right.

Henry,
Thanks for that. Is the horn ring you are talking about the brown lamiate disc with the electrical connection?

Graeme

yes, I was trying to find a thread in the corvetefaq site , but it appears to be down. Try to access it and look in the suspension and steering section, as there are some good diagrams there. I am at the offic and don't have any of my books to refresh my brain. maybe Jim Shea will chime in, he is the gru of steering.

http://www.corvettefaq.com/steering.asp

There I finally got to the faq site. go there and look at the tilt-tele steering wheel articles and you should be able to resolve the problem.

Thanks Henry there is enough reading here to at least give me an idea of where to look. I did look at the faq site but it didnt occur to my pea sized brain to look under steering for a horn problem
