Default Late model Camaro electric fans in a 78, what is involved?

A salvage yard nearby has a 99 LS1 Camaro. They have the dual electric fan assembly from it still. I know some members have had success putting these in their C3s. My questions are: What exactly is involved in the changeover, such as thermostatic control methods, etc. ? What is a fair price to give for one of these assemblies. Thanks in advance for your advice.
