Default 85 has no power--HELP

OK, here's the deal. When I press the go pedal i have absolutely no power, idels smooth, doesn't miss, just no power, like i barely am giving it gas but it is floored. I was thinking fuel pump(new fuel filter already), maybe timing although recently had intake gaskets changed by ASE mechanic for emmissions in dallas, or maybe clogged cat, how would i check for a clogged cat? HEI ignition, something there, coil?? help out of ideas. :cry :cry thanks. Oh another thing, rev up and squirts good gas thr throttle body, but doesn't seem to rev really quick of freely like my 93 cadallac for comparasion

I think you would have better luck finding your answer if you posted this in the C4 section :D

What year is this? You say 85, but then mention a throttle body (only in 1982 and 1984) and you posted in C3 (1968-1982).

OK, my fault for not being clear, car is cadillac, not vette, no cad sites so thought you guys could help, not concerned about TBA as much as trying to figure if it might be fuel pump or clogged cat. My 70 is smog free machine and only polutes as it should with lots of duration and lieft. :D anyway, any thought on cad problem, sorry again for being unclear

start at the beginning; check the throttle cable. If you press on the pedal and the throttle isn't being moved that could be a problem. Then check air and fuel intake. If all of that is good check compression in all cylinders. After all of that I'd look to exhaust and the CAT.
