Default Never ever disconnect one end of a sway bar- bendy bits

I was putting new bushings into the spring mounts and pulled the spring to clean up and POR 15 it. I had done the sway bar just before xmas and now saw that a sway bar bracket was badly bent.

Put it back together and thought I would connect it all up and leave one side of the sway bar unconnected so the bar would be up out of the way and I could drive the car in this great SUMMER weather unil the new bracket arrived.

BAD MOVE... backed out of driveway and loose end caught on the tyre and big BENDY mess.:nopity:

Lucky not too bad and have now taken all off bits until new part arrives.:flag:

Any thoughts as to why one bracket bent so bad (before backing out !!)
