Default Identifying a transmission?

Well i have this transmission lying in my basement but i don't know what it is. I think its a muncie but not sure. Here are some pics. Is there a number i can pull to see? Thanks

that kinda of helped. I'm pretty sure its out of a 68-69 or atleast thats the numbers that match. But now how do i tell if its a M20 M21 etc? Is there anyway to tell if its manual or auto. I don't know much about transmissions.... Thanks for all your help so far


<<EDIT>> I'm also wondering how i can tell if this even works. I'm looking to sell it to get it out of the basement. Any way i can test it to see if it works or not.
