Changing speedo gear -- do I need more teeth or less?
Currently, my speedo says 75, but my GPS says 70. We have a bit of exaggeration on the part of the speedo -- I wondered why people were blowing past me on the freeway... :auto:
So I need to replace that little gear in my tranny. But do I need one more tooth, or one less tooth in that gear?

According to ZIP's catalog:
Speedometer reads fast -- install a gear with more teeth.
Speedometer reads slow -- install a gear with les teeth.
Also, they say:
One tooth equals approximately 1-1/2 MPH.

Go to a Chevy dealer and tell them the gear and tire size and they will get you the correct gear. Did mine when I switched to the 3.70 rear, and the speedometer is dead on.
