Joining the C3 ranks
I posted a similar message in OT, but I wanted to share with fellow C3 owners that do not get over there.
I am very excited that I have finally found a '69 corvette convertible that I can call my own. And, I have two forum members to thank. I'd been looking for a vette from my birth year (1968) for about a year and finally decided to go with a 69, mostly because of the 1-year parts issues.
I asked a few individuals from the forum to take a look at a car for me in their area because of being such a novice with these older vettes.
When the first car fell through (just wasn't what I was looking for) one of the guys said he had a '69 that he was selling so he could focus on his new Z06 (which is in the attached photos as well). After many months of trying to get the two hooked up so the non-seller could evaluate for me, I took the plunge (Now, realize that the second individual judges corvettes at Carlisle, the NCM, and several concours events). There are not too many people I trust in this world anymore, but let me tell you that these two guys from the forum are A#1 in my book.
Anyway, the car is in Detroit and I am in NW Indiana. I am receiving a cashier's check tomorrow and the car will be delivered sometime this week. I cannot wait to get it into my garage.
And, now for the pics of my new acquisition.

Wow, that's a beautiful car. Congratulations! That is going to be a hoot to drive. What are the details? 427 and 4 spd? I would also like to get a Vette that is the same age as I am. So I'm looking for a nice '71 vert. Welcome to C3 ownership. They are a different kind of animal but they certainly have charm and other advantages.

Congrats, and check my response in OT.
Oh, check out Great Lakes forum. Looks like the seller is making an inquiry for you, too, about transport.
Maybe we'll see you at Bloomington Gold this summer?

Let me tell you these two are both stand-up guys and very nice to work with.
As for Bloomington Gold: I need to become more familar with all the shows and local events. We may be moving this summer to Atlanta so my wife can attend school at Emory University, so we'll have to see what the spring and summer hold for us. I'd love to start meeting some fellow vette (especially C3) owners.
Now, I need to change my screen name. Any ideas??

I see that. I guess I can officially thank the two forum members by name. I bought the C3 from Mike Sikora in Detroit. Michael Shaffer did one hell of a job evaluating both Mike's car and another vette prior to this (which I passed on).
