Why the heck do the boxes have to be so BIG? (Rant)
What? does CC get a kick back from the postal guys?
One box contained an upper horn button and the other
box contained two power door lock wiring harnesses.
Each box cost me $6.80 to ship, each box delivered same day.
All parts could have been shipped in one box or even a large
envelope. This is crazy, I'm being taken advance of when it
comes to shipping. WTF? :mad :mad :mad

I've had that happen too. I have to have my stuff shipped internationally and I frequently get stuff in a box that is more than twice the size needed. It really makes you wonder if there's some common interest between the shipping co. and the seller.
Those boxes you posted, that's insane, that stuff would fit in one of those bubble envelopes.

Im a mailman an I wish the boxes were smaller too. The post office doesnt do too much handling of car parts anyway. Most of the auto parts vendors ship UPS. :yesnod: I did order an HEI distributor from summit recently. It was shipped UPS as usual. The box was big enough to fit a 19" TV. It was filled with a bunch foam peanuts. Mostly things are shipped by weight up to a certain size. So it doesnt really cost much more to use a bigger box.

One reason (I ship for my online store) is tracking purposes. if both are in the same box, you could dispute that one part was never received. They say it was in the same box. You say it wasn't - big mess.
Also possible that the parts are shipped from different warehouses..??
With all of my suppliers, the shipping charges are handled differently. Some, I apy all costs even with split shipments, some I pay a flat fee PER ORDER regardless of the number of boxes and shipping times.
I personally do not charge for back order shipping (my problem, not the customers) or split shipments.

Here is the flip side ----------
Here is the other side - A forum member kindly sent me a teeny tiny itsy bitsy little screw - you know the little secondary hanger holdown screw on the top of your Qjet? :) He wrapped it in a tissue and put it in a letter envelope and mailed it to me. I opened the envelope and unwrapped the tissue and found......... NOTHING!! Upon a very close inspection of the envelope I found a very small hole in the front of the envelope.... so someone had noticed the little bump in the envelope and squeezed it out!! Like a Zit! :( MJ
