Thanks for the compliments on the car.

Wheels are Boyd Coddington Timeless 5. They are billet aluminum. Fronts are 17x8 with 4" BS...running 245/45 tires. Rears are 17x9.5 w/ 4.75" BS...running 285/40 tires. You do NOT need any spacer or adapters for these wheels to clear the calipers, so you don't have to figure anything else into the equation when trying to determine total offset/backspacing. :)

No rubbing, but I have a set of VBP offset rear trailing arms, although I'm not sure I would have rubbed with the stock TA's...assuming, of course, that the e-brake cable and bracket were relocated.

Hope this helps!

Yes they are very nice I had admired them myself.

You state that you have the 17 x 9.5s in the rear with 4.75 BS and Offset TA's.Could you have used a larger wheel in the rear?

How would they have fit with 17x9.5 with 285- 40s in front?
Several have used this combo on all four. I still am not sure about it though. Do you think you could have used the 4 x 17x9.5 285-40s ?

Thanks JIM

Hey Jim,

I believe I could have run another .25-.5" wide in the rear...and just run more BS (5.00-5.25")...although it would be tight on my car.

As far as the front, I was told by a number of forum members that on the '68-69 I was going to have a hard time with anything larger than 255s, so I didn't even bother measuring or trying. I have seen some with the 275/40 or even 285/40 on the front, but on some of them I've noticed reworked fenders, etc.

So really I cannot honestly answer your question with any certainty. I wish I could help here. I have not bolted the rears onto the front to see.
